O Biggest Little Town with Tintabulations
December 8, 2024 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Sparks United Methodist Church, 1231 Pyramid Way, Sparks, NV 89431, USATintabulations, a community handbell ensemble in Reno, Nevada, presents their winter concert of holiday stories and music.
The concert, entitled “O Biggest Little Town,” presents modern arrangements of classic holiday songs performed on handbells. Enthralling audiences near and far for over two decades, Reno's own Tintabulations Handbell Ensemble is comprised of passionate musicians focused on innovating the art of handbell performance and educational outreach. With a flash of glittering bronze, Tintabulations delivers the highest quality music and a visual feast for the eyes. Since its founding in 1996, Tintabulations Handbell Ensemble (or just “Tintab,” as the members like to refer to it) has been pushing the boundaries of traditional handbell performance and entertaining audiences around the West Coast. Barb Walsh, the group’s director and retired Washoe County Schools music teacher, started Tintab with a group of ambitious high school students. The group has since grown to include ringers from around Northern Nevada and California. Tintab has performed the opening concert for the Handbell Musicians of America National conference and appears regularly with the Reno Pops Orchestra and the Reno Philharmonic.
