Michèle Sharik – Regional CoordinatorMichèle rings professionally with Sonos Handbell Ensemble, is the founding Artistic Director of Timbré, and is an internationally-renowned handbell soloist, conductor, and teacher. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Visual and Performing Arts in 2012 from Cal State San Marcos and a Graduate Certificate in Performing Arts Medicine in 2017 from Shenandoah University. Michèle is Master Teacher of Handbell Techniques for the Certification program of the Handbell Musicians of America, and Past Chair of Area 12. Let's Brushup on Those Handbell Skills & Technique Workshop

San Luis Rey Valley United Methodist Church, 5570 Old Ranch Rd, Oceanside, CA 92057, USAAn opportunity to learn proper techniques, articulations and rhythms to level 1-2 ringers. The goal is to learn a piece that can be performed in church with little effort outside of workshop.
Participants at the Ringing Skills & Technique Workshop led by Clinician Sharon Guilliams will explore “Inception” by Jason W. Krug with the South County Community Handbell Choir. The 4-hour workshop on 08/17/2024 at San Luis Rey Valley United Methodist Church offers education, practice, and teamwork for all levels. Sessions focus on techniques, articulations, and rhythmic drills to enhance skills and foster group cohesion, culminating in confident performances.Registration and further information: https://www.schandbell.org/

Bellz! The Next Generation (Area 12 Youth Conference)

Concordia University, Irvine, CAThis is a two day event for youth ringers (middle and high school aged) featuring massed ringing, classes, challenge pieces, and social interaction through music. Ringers will work with clinician Tim Waugh for 2 days and then give a public concert. The purpose of the event is to improve musicianship for young ringers and help connect them with the handbell community.
Registration opens in March.
This is a Handbell Musicians of America sponsored event.
