Area 12’s LA Metro Region is proud to bring “Bell Jubilee – Let’s Get Back into the Swing of Ringing” to handbell enthusiasts in the LA Metro Region, as well as around the world via the virtual medium.  During this ½ day event, you will hone and refresh your ringing skills by learning a piece of music under the tutelage of Christian Guebert and members of some of LA Metro’s premiere handbell ensembles.  The premiere handbell ensemble ringers will actually be ringing alongside participants.  The format for the workshop is a typical rehearsal of a piece interspersed with “mini-moments of learning” taught by the members of the premiere handbell ensembles.  We will review proper technique as well as proper execution of articulations, all the while having fun doing what we love.

Some of the pluses of this workshop:

  • No preparation is required.
  • No need to bring anything.
  • You can learn from a fabulous director and ask ringers from LA Bronze or Cathedral Bells how to do something without the whole group having to hear your question!
  • You can go home and say you rang with LA Bronze or Cathedral Bells (wink wink).
  • If a majority of your group comes, you will have a piece of music ready to perform with only 1 or 2 more rehearsals.

We request that unvaccinated ringers participate virtually in this event. Based on current conditions and facility requirements, masks will be required while in close proximity to people and indoors. You will be asked to sign a COVID questionnaire/waiver for the in person events.
